As a Catholic men’s organization, the Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, CT. We are, therefore, members of the home state of the order. Fr. McGivney is our founder and also a native of CT. We are called to put our faith into action. We support the church, our parishes, the clergy, vocations and those in need.
A few of the initiatives we support are: the intellectually handicapped – especially the CT special Olympics and area people in need through the Tootsie Roll campaign, which raises awareness and collects donations from the community; the Red Cross – hosting two collections a year averaging about 40 pints per drive; Right to life – providing funds and support to local life centers and via financial support of 3D ultrasound devices; Persecuted Christians in the Middle East – holding fund raising dinners raising thousands of dollars for much needed relief and support. We provide gifts to support our clergy and churches and endeavor to help with events. Come and join us!
