St. Michael Prayer for the Defeat of Evil
from the St. Joseph Men's Club
Fellow parishioners, 2020 is a year that most will want to forget. The world experienced a multitude of disasters including cyclones, hurricanes, floods, volcanic eruptions, return of locusts, forest fires and yes, the one that tops them all- the COVID 19 pandemic. We can’t help but feel that the power of prayer is one way to combat these evils; more importantly, prayer in a group setting. Let’s start 2021 off with a goal to send dark forces back to hell where they belong.
The asks are:
- Let us unite together to say the prayer below daily at 8:30 EST and/or 6PM EST. Suggest setting your phone alarm to remind you!
-Share the prayer for St. Michael with as many people as you see fit with both domestic and foreign friends and family. You can use Facebook, email or any media form you choose!
-Some Non-Catholic may want to use the second prayer below. Prayer for this intention is for everyone!
Original Prayer to St. Michael
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Non-Catholic Version
Lord defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. Rebuke Satan we humbly pray; and by your power, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Thank you,
St. Joseph Men’s Club
